Please contact us by email at email@example.com to confirm the availability of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy but we are in no way a producer & we do not have many litters each year. You can always find us & message us at Katy Cavaliers on Facebook & we are also on Instagram @katycavaliers.
Each pregnancy is confirmed by ultrasound. We will also do a puppy count X-Ray near the end of the pregnancy to know about how many puppies we are expecting. We want solid proof & we know you want that too. Sometimes families move their deposit from one litter to another and sometimes families do not want to wait for confirmation to get in line. No matter when you send it, the deposit is 100% fully refundable. Puppies are chosen in order of deposits received, however we always have the option to have 1st pick if we decide to keep a puppy.
After your application is approved, you may place 1/2 the deposit to get on our waitlist using Venmo (friend), PayPal (friend transfer) or Zelle & pay the remaining 1/2 deposit once the litter arrives & I know for sure I have a puppy for you in a current litter. Your spot in line will be secured once we receive your waitlist deposit. We share fun pupdates with families who are waiting with us that we do not share publicly. DEPOSITS ARE ALWAYS REFUNDABLE! If we do not have your puppy, we will not keep your money!
CHOOSING YOUR PUPPY: Ideally families will be able to tell us your color and gender preference when you place your deposit. We evaluate each litter at 8 weeks of age to see if we have a show prospect or keeper for ourself. We will not know which puppy is ours right away as we look for more than just a pretty face and won't be able to judge them on structure/temperament until 8 weeks. We will fall in love with all of them together. The remaining puppies will then be chosen by pet families in order of deposits received.
We post weekly photos & more. We are just as excited as you are and I am faithful to post weekly photos so you can see how much they change from week to week! Don't be too surprised if you see a casual photo show up on your phone each day from me. I'll be getting to know you over the course of the wait as much as you are getting to know your puppy.
We take early payments and encourage you to pay down your balance while you are waiting. You will pay any remaining balance before you pick up your puppy. Any amount you pay toward the balance of your puppy is refundable until the puppy goes home.
We will send home with your puppy their AKC registration paperwork which will be activated before pick up, health records, microchip documentation (all microchips are activated before they leave me), a blanket that has moms scent and a toy with their siblings scent on it, a few extra surprise goodies from us and a sample of food. We will activate your puppy's 30 day free trial insurance before the puppy leaves our home.
We reserve the right to refuse the sale of a puppy for any reason at any time. In this case, if any money has been exchanged it will be fully refunded.
Lastly, we want you to enjoy a lifetime of love & happiness with your CKCS puppy! We will ALWAYS be available to answer any questions and LOVE keeping in touch with our puppy owners who have become my extended family.
For pricing of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Puppy, please contact the breeder!
*Limited Registration: Limited Registration does not mean that your puppy is any less valuable, it simply means that a dog cannot produce AKC registrable litters, will be spayed/neutered & enjoy a carefree life as a beloved family pet. THEY ARE ALLOWED to participate in the following events: Obedience, Rally, Agility, Fast Cat, Scentwork, Junior Showmanship, Trick Dog and CGC (Canine Good Citizen).
*Full Registration: We do NOT offer full registration at this time. Full Registration privileges allow the dog to participate in AKC conformation shows/events and will be allowed to breed. Since we do not have our own stud we have a lot more options when we plan for our litters but this also means we have extra fees associated with breedings than if we would have our own male. We require the stud dogs that we use to also adhere to the same health testing protocols that we follow or we do not consider them. Since we use outside studs we are bound by strict stud contracts to place any dog we do not keep for ourself on limited registration.
If your application is approved, you will not only get a puppy from me but you will receive a lifetime of support for both you & your puppy. I have created private family groups for each of our litters so all the puppy siblings & families will always stay connected. We will go thru the puppy stage together and enjoy photos and pupdates throughout the life of your dog.

We HIGHLY recommend NuVet supplements to all our new puppy parents. Our own dogs take them and love them. They are great daily vitamins for immunity support, seasonal allergies, promotes healthy skin & coat and has been proven to stop eye tearing. See below for more information!
We do every health test suggested for our breed and then some & strive for CHIC Certifications for each of our dogs.
The Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) was established to maintain information on the health issues prevalent in specific breeds and they established recommended protocols for breed specific health screenings. For Cavalier King Charles Spaniels the requirements are annual heart exams by a canine cardiologist, annual eye exams by a canine ophthalmologist, patella clearance at 1 year old and hip X-rays to look for hip dysplasia at 2 years old. The OFA classifies hips into seven different categories: Excellent, Good, Fair (all within Normal limits), Borderline, and then Mild, Moderate, or Severe (the last three are considered Dysplastic). The hip grades of excellent, good and fair are within normal limits and are given OFA numbers. Dogs tested in accordance with all the breed specific health testing are then given a CHIC number & certification.
We also do full DNA panels to know exactly who is a perfect match for whom so we do not knowingly create any issue.
Any outside stud dog that we use must have ALL the same health clearances that we do or we do not consider them.
Yes! I am a member of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Greater Houston. They have been wonderful mentors to me and have become some of my best friends while we work together to better our breed. We have monthly meetings with our local breeders and quarterly meetings with all our members. I am also a photographer and I have taken many photos for our club members at our events. I love being friends with local breeders to learn from and share ideas with. It’s always nice having like-minded friends. Sometimes we go to dog shows together to show, help out and cheer each other on. We have a yearly Specialty conformation dog show at a local hotel in August and we have a Fun Day in the Park each year around Halloween where we all bring our cavaliers dressed in their Halloween costumes. These are fun events that you don't have to be a member to join us there, everyone is welcome.
ALL our dogs are registered with the AKC and their puppies will be too.
If you are not local, you will cover the travel fees to pick up your puppy at our Houston Hobby (HOU) airport. The cost of the puppy's airline ticket to get your puppy home on Southwest Airlines is around $95. You will NOT be able to purchase your puppy's airline ticket until the puppy is in your possession & at the airport but it is a very quick process.
The puppy can go in the cabin (NOT EVER CARGO) and will stay in its carrier under the seat in front of you. I have loaned travel carriers & families have mailed them back to me later, or you can purchase a carrier online and have it sent to my home when it gets closer for the puppy to go home.
I cover the cost of the 1st shots, microchip, registration of the microchip and the puppies vet check. I also pay for the puppies AKC registration for you. You will chose the name your puppy is called, then you will come up with a fancy registered name for the AKC. I can help with the official name if you need help.
I will be sending home a "diaper" bag for your puppy with a toy that smells like their siblings and a blanket that smells like mom, a food sample bag and a great binder that you will probably keep forever that has their AKC registration paperwork, pet insurance offers, literature about the breed, my vet clearance, pedigrees of both parents, and a few surprises.

I always have the option to pick 1st for each litter as I'm trying to improve the next generation and looking for my next show prospect.
Buyers select their puppy in order of deposits received. If it is your turn to choose, you can either choose an available puppy or wait for an upcoming litter. I had the last pick in Canon's litter and NEVER felt like I didn't get the very best puppy from his litter.
We have a general idea of families preference at the time they submit their deposit but sometimes they change their mind when the puppies are born. Some buyers only want 1 specific puppy and that could extend their wait time.
This is what your puppy will be on during its 1st year. We love Fromm! NEVER get Grain Free! Grain Free is easy to spot on the Fromm bag because it will have a banner stripe at the top saying Grain Free. This brand is not in all the pet stores so go to www.frommfamily.com to find a retailer close to you.
We LOVE NuVet Vitamins. You had to scroll thru the info to get to this section & I highly encourage you to read about them. I'll send info & samples home with your puppy but order them now so you have them when your puppy comes home. Our dogs LOVE them and it really does help build their immune system and is great for seasonal allergies & keeping tear stains away.
This little gem is a life saver and it will take your puppy months and months to power thru this mighty chew. You can find it on Amazon! Be sure you get the SMALL. GET IT ASAP!
THIS is our favorite shampoo and we LOVE this scent. Bonus they have a 2-in-1 with conditioner so it's literally just one wash and you are done. We are ALL ABOUT EASY! This can be found in your pet store and also on Amazon.
This is the style of crate we like the best and what we start all our puppies in. We have found that Walmart has the cheapest & love their Doskocil brand for the value. Don't forget a bolster style crate pad (Amazon) so they can rest their heads on it.
This is the crate pad we love for the crates. This MidWest Brand is on Amazon and the dogs love to rest their heads on the bolster.
We highly recommend having a playpen area for your puppy. They will already know how to use a litter box and go to their crate but this is a great option to give them room to move around if you need to be away from your puppy for an extended amount of time. This MYPET play yard with locking door can be found on Amazon.
We use this Mainstays brand boot tray from Walmart for our litter tray. The puppies learn to use this before they leave. You can find other alternatives on Amazon.
We use alfalfa pellets in the litter tray which smells most similar to grass. This is the brand we use from our local Tractor Supply nearby and it's about $20 for a 40lb bag.
This is the bowl we use for our dogs because they are specially made for spaniel dogs ears to go on the outside of the bowl when they eat. If their ears are long enough we will use a snood but this bowl is terrific and we only have the 1 cup size for our adult dogs. You can find these bowls in pet stores as well as online.
We have to share a genius idea when we find one. This toy is AMAZING & truly does provide comfort to your puppy to ease loneliness, fear and separation anxiety. It has a real-feel heartbeat and a heat pack. We highly recommend bringing this toy at pickup if you have it. It can be found in pet stores as well as online at Chewy & Amazon.
These Benebone chews are wonderful and will take several months for your puppy to power thru. For our breed, I like the ones for puppies less than 15 lbs.
